CALL FOR RESEARCH ASSISTANTS

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Dr. Gwendolyn Sasse from the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford, is organizing a survey-based study of the political attitudes and sociological profile of the Ukrainian diaspora, including recent Ukrainian migrants.

The study will take the 2010 Ukrainian Presidential Elections as its starting-point. For this purpose we seek research assistants who will be paid an hourly wage for one-two days of work at 8 GBP an hour (or local currency equivalent).

RESEARCH ASSISTANTS will work in pairs of two or four and will conduct a survey outside polling stations on the 17th of January and, depending on the returns, again in early February for the second round. The polling stations chosen for this survey are located in major Ukrainian migrant destination cities.

Volunteers are needed in the following cities:

The Research Assistants are required:
• to know Ukrainian and/or Russian and, preferably, the language of the country where they are located;
• to be able to conduct the surveys completely objectively according to the professional standards in sociological research.

Preferred Skills:
• Graduate students in the social sciences (current or former)
• Surveying experience is a plus.
